The Government Affairs and Corporate Headquarters for BP America features over 90 sf of glass wall partitions that serves as the main design element through the space. The design intent of the wall was to transmit a welcoming message and to express their corporate brand graphically while functioning as a divider between conference rooms and open offices. Most importantly, though, the photomosaic serves as the thread that ties together two distinct halves of the office. The dynamic graphics allow the visitors and employees the opportunity to interact with the corporate culture. The mosaic depicts a field of older dandelions, which signifies regeneration as the seeds disperse. The photomosaic is comprised of 616,896 individual images all culled from the company’s archives. The wall can be seen from everywhere inside the space, which provides a colorful, powerful statement to employees and visitors—exactly what the client wanted.
